St. George Utah Traffic Crawls Through The Virgin River Gorge – Thanks Cliven Bundy!

When most people think of Utah their mind tends to gravitate towards plural marriages, the book of Mormon, and I 15 winding through some of the most beautiful scenery the country has to offer. While the first two scare the uneducated off, the last one draws millions in. Most of the time at least. For those northbound on I 15, coming from California, Nevada, or Arizona; the Arizona highway patrol’s Sgt. John Bottoms is advising that while the road may be open… The traffic is going at a snail’s pace.

“There appear to be militia members wearing military style uniforms,” noted officer bottoms, “and they are estimating the numbers of Bundy supporters around 100 – 200 along the interstate.”

Anyone thinking about traveling the I 15 corridor has been advised to expect longer than normal delays, particularly for southbound travelers headed from St. George to Mesquite, Nevada.

So, for those St. George Utah residents looking to make a mad dash to Trader Joe’s in Las Vegas – be sure to pack some snacks and plan for an extended trip through the world of “Bundy versus the federal government.”

For those that just have to get there… Wherever there is south of Mesquite on I 15, there’s always the goat trail out – Highway 91.

For what it’s worth… I hope neither Al nor Cliven purchase real estate in St. George anytime soon.
